The building in the middle of Frankfurt\u2019s city centre served to repress and oppress people in all phases of its use from its completion in 1886 until its closure after more than 115 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <a href=\"\/en\/permanent-exhibitions\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"596\">exhibitions section<\/a>, you can find the contents of both permanent exhibitions set up in the Klapperfeld by the \u00bbFaites votre jeu!\u00ab initiative. The exhibition in the basement deals with the <a href=\"https:\/\/klapperfeld.de\/en\/permanent-exhibitions\/history-of-the-former-police-prison-and-its-use-during-national-socialism-1886-1945\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"670\">history of the former police prison and its use during National Socialism\u00a0\u2013 1886\u20131945<\/a>. On the second floor is the exhibition <a href=\"https:\/\/klapperfeld.de\/en\/permanent-exhibitions\/out-of-here-inscriptions-of-people-in-police-custody-and-immigration-detention-in-klapperfeld-prison-1955-2002\/\">\u00bbOut of here \u2013 Inscriptions of people in police custody and immigration detention in Klapperfeld prison \u2013 1955\u20132002\u00ab<\/a>. In addition, a timeline on the ground floor gives a <a href=\"\/en\/permanent-exhibitions\/historical-fragments-of-the-klapperfeld-prison\/\">fragmentary overview of prison history<\/a> from the creation and construction of the Klapperfeld to its use by the initiative \u00bbFaites votre jeu!\u00ab as a self-organized centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on the temporary exhibition \u00bbA VISUAL JOURNEY ON PROTESTS OF IRANIAN DIASPORA\u00ab with photos by Sajedeh Jalali from March 7th until March 23rd, 2024, may be found <a href=\"https:\/\/klapperfeld.de\/photo-exhibit-iran-a-visual-journey-on-protests-of-iranian-diaspora\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <a href=\"\/en\/faites-votre-jeu\/\">\u00bbFaites votre jeu!\u00ab<\/a> there is information about the initiative which has been using the building since the end of April 2009 as a self-managed centre for a wide variety of events and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"\/en\/archive\/\">archive<\/a> documents the guest exhibitions that have been shown in the Klapperfeld since 2009.
